I love walking along the tree avenue at Moor Crichel, especially when the trees draw your eye down the road and create such a lovely sense of depth. On this occasion, it was a pheasant standing right in the middle of the road that caught my attention.

I liked the way it became the natural focal point, framed by the avenue of trees stretching away into the distance. It’s often the unexpected little moments like this that make a photograph for me. You can head out with an idea of what you want to capture, but sometimes the best images come from simply noticing what’s in front of you.
